Jakob in Bethel

1 Und Gott sprach zu Jakob: Mache dich auf, zieh hinauf nach Bethel und wohne dort, und mache dort einen Altar dem Gott, der dir erschienen ist, als du vor deinem Bruder Esau flohst! (1Mo 28,10; 1Mo 28,13; 1Mo 28,19; 1Mo 29,1; 1Mo 31,13; 1Mo 35,15)

2 Da sagte Jakob zu seinem Haus und zu allen, die bei ihm waren: Schafft die fremden Götter weg, die in eurer Mitte sind, reinigt euch, und wechselt eure Kleider! (1Mo 18,19; 1Mo 31,19; 2Mo 19,10; Jos 24,14; 1Sam 7,3; 1Kor 10,7; 2Kor 7,1)

3 Dann wollen wir uns aufmachen und nach Bethel hinaufziehen, dort werde ich dem Gott einen Altar machen, der mir am Tag meiner Not geantwortet^[1] hat und der mit mir gewesen ist auf dem Weg, den ich gegangen bin. (1Mo 28,15; 1Mo 48,15) 4 Und sie gaben Jakob alle fremden Götter, die in ihrer Hand waren, und die Ringe, die an ihren Ohren ⟨hingen⟩^[2], und Jakob vergrub sie unter der Terebinthe, die bei Sichem ist. (Jos 24,25; Jes 2,20) 5 Und sie brachen auf. Und der Schrecken Gottes kam über die Städte, die rings um sie her waren, sodass sie den Söhnen Jakobs nicht nachjagten. (2Mo 23,27; 1Sam 14,15; 2Chr 14,13) 6 So kam Jakob nach Lus, das im Land Kanaan ⟨liegt⟩, das ist Bethel, er und alles Volk, das bei ihm war. (1Mo 28,15) 7 Und er baute dort einen Altar und nannte den Ort El-Bethel^[3]; denn dort hatte Gott sich ihm offenbart, als er vor seinem Bruder floh. 8 Und Debora, die Amme Rebekkas, starb, und sie wurde unterhalb von Bethel begraben unter der Eiche; und er gab ihr den Namen Allon Bachut^[4]. (1Mo 24,59) 9 Und Gott erschien dem Jakob noch einmal, als er aus Paddan-Aram^[5] kam, und segnete ihn. (1Mo 32,30; 1Mo 48,3; Hos 12,5) 10 Und Gott sprach zu ihm: Dein Name ist Jakob. (1Mo 17,22) 14 Und Jakob richtete einen Gedenkstein auf an dem Ort, an dem er mit ihm geredet hatte, ein Denkmal aus Stein, und spendete darauf ein Trankopfer und goss Öl darauf. (1Mo 28,18) 15 Und Jakob gab dem Ort, wo Gott mit ihm geredet hatte, den Namen Bethel. (1Mo 35,1)

Rahels Tod bei der Geburt Benjamins

16 Und sie brachen von Bethel auf. Und es war noch eine Strecke Landes, um nach Efrata zu kommen, da gebar Rahel; und sie hatte es schwer mit ihrem Gebären. (1Mo 3,16) 17 Und es geschah, als sie es schwer hatte mit ihrem Gebären, da sagte die Hebamme zu ihr: Fürchte dich nicht, denn auch der wird dir ein Sohn! (1Mo 30,24) 18 Und es geschah, als ihre Seele ausging – denn sie musste sterben –, da gab sie ihm den Namen Ben-Oni^[8]; sein Vater aber nannte ihn Ben-Jamin^[9]. 20 Und Jakob richtete über ihrem Grab einen Gedenkstein auf, das ist das Grabmal Rahels bis auf diesen Tag. (1Sam 10,2)

Jakobs Söhne

21 Und Israel brach auf und schlug sein Zelt auf jenseits von Migdal-Eder. (Hebr 11,9) 22 Und es geschah, als Israel in jenem Land wohnte, ging Ruben hin und lag bei Bilha, der Nebenfrau seines Vaters. Und Israel hörte es. Die Söhne Jakobs waren zwölf. Isaaks Tod

27 Und Jakob kam zu seinem Vater Isaak nach Mamre, nach Kirjat-Arba, das ist Hebron, wo Abraham und Isaak sich als Fremde aufgehalten hatten. (1Mo 13,18; 1Mo 17,8; 1Mo 23,19; 1Mo 37,14; 1Mo 49,29; Jos 14,15)

1 And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother. 2 Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: 3 And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went. 4 And they gave unto Jacob all the strange gods which were in their hand, and all their earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the oak which was by Shechem. 5 And they journeyed: and the terror of God was upon the cities that were round about them, and they did not pursue after the sons of Jacob. 6 So Jacob came to Luz, which is in the land of Canaan, that is , Bethel, he and all the people that were with him. 7 And he built there an altar, and called the place Elbethel: because there God appeared unto him, when he fled from the face of his brother. 8 But Deborah Rebekah' nurse died, and she was buried beneath Bethel under an oak: and the name of it was called Allonbachuth. 9 And God appeared unto Jacob again, when he came out of Padanaram, and blessed him. 10 And God said unto him, Thy name is Jacob: thy name shall not be called any more Jacob, but Israel shall be thy name: and he called his name Israel. 11 And God said unto him, I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply; a nation and a company of nations shall be of thee, and kings shall come out of thy loins; 12 And the land which I gave Abraham and Isaac, to thee I will give it, and to thy seed after thee will I give the land. 13 And God went up from him in the place where he talked with him. 14 And Jacob set up a pillar in the place where he talked with him, even a pillar of stone: and he poured a drink offering thereon, and he poured oil thereon. 15 And Jacob called the name of the place where God spake with him, Bethel. 16 And they journeyed from Bethel; and there was but a little way to come to Ephrath: and Rachel travailed, and she had hard labour. 17 And it came to pass, when she was in hard labour, that the midwife said unto her, Fear not; thou shalt have this son also. 18 And it came to pass, as her soul was in departing, (for she died) that she called his name Benoni: but his father called him Benjamin. 19 And Rachel died, and was buried in the way to Ephrath, which is Bethlehem. 20 And Jacob set a pillar upon her grave: that is the pillar of Rachel' grave unto this day. 21 And Israel journeyed, and spread his tent beyond the tower of Edar. 22 And it came to pass, when Israel dwelt in that land, that Reuben went and lay with Bilhah his father' concubine: and Israel heard it . Now the sons of Jacob were twelve: 23 The sons of Leah; Reuben, Jacob' firstborn, and Simeon, and Levi, and Judah, and Issachar, and Zebulun: 24 The sons of Rachel; Joseph, and Benjamin: 25 And the sons of Bilhah, Rachel' handmaid; Dan, and Naphtali: 26 And the sons of Zilpah, Leah' handmaid; Gad, and Asher: these are the sons of Jacob, which were born to him in Padanaram. 27 And Jacob came unto Isaac his father unto Mamre, unto the city of Arbah, which is Hebron, where Abraham and Isaac sojourned. 28 And the days of Isaac were an hundred and fourscore years. 29 And Isaac gave up the ghost, and died, and was gathered unto his people, being old and full of days: and his sons Esau and Jacob buried him.
