Jakobs Flucht aus Haran – Übereinkunft mit Laban

1 Und er hörte die Reden der Söhne Labans, die sagten: Jakob hat alles an sich genommen, was unserem Vater gehörte; und von dem, was unserem Vater gehört, hat er sich all diesen Reichtum verschafft. (Pred 4,4) 2 Und Jakob sah das Gesicht Labans, und siehe, es^[1] war ihm gegenüber nicht wie früher^[2]. (1Sam 18,9) 3 Und der HERR sprach zu Jakob: Kehre zurück in das Land deiner Väter und zu deiner Verwandtschaft! Ich werde mit dir sein. (1Mo 28,15; 1Mo 32,10) 4 Da sandte Jakob hin und rief Rahel und Lea aufs Feld zu seinen Tieren. 5 Und er sagte zu ihnen: Ich sehe das Gesicht eures Vaters, dass es^[3] zu mir nicht wie früher^[4] ist; aber der Gott meines Vaters ist mit mir gewesen. (1Mo 26,24) 6 Ihr selbst wisst^[5] ja, dass ich mit all meiner Kraft eurem Vater gedient habe. (1Mo 30,26) 7 Und euer Vater hat mich betrogen und hat meinen Lohn zehnmal verändert; aber Gott hat ihm nicht gestattet, mir Böses zu tun. (1Mo 20,6; 1Mo 31,41; 4Mo 14,22) 8 Wenn er so sagte: Die Gesprenkelten sollen dein Lohn sein, dann gebaren alle Tiere Gesprenkelte; und wenn er so sagte: Die Gestreiften sollen dein Lohn sein, dann gebaren alle Tiere Gestreifte. (1Mo 30,32) 9 Und Gott hat eurem Vater das Vieh entzogen und mir gegeben. 10 Und es geschah zur Brunstzeit der Tiere, da erhob ich meine Augen und sah im Traum; und siehe, die Böcke, die die Tiere besprangen, waren gestreift, gesprenkelt und scheckig. (1Mo 30,39) 11 Und der Engel Gottes sprach im Traum zu mir: Jakob! Und ich sagte: Hier bin ich! (1Mo 22,15) 12 Und er sprach: Erheb doch deine Augen und sieh: Alle Böcke, die die Tiere bespringen, sind gestreift, gesprenkelt und scheckig; denn ich habe alles gesehen, was Laban dir antut. (1Mo 30,42; 2Mo 3,7; Ps 10,14) 13 Ich bin der Gott von Bethel, wo du einen Gedenkstein gesalbt, wo du mir ein Gelübde abgelegt hast. Mache dich jetzt auf, zieh aus diesem Land und kehre zurück in das Land deiner Verwandtschaft! (1Mo 28,18) 14 Da antworteten Rahel und Lea und sagten zu ihm: Haben wir noch einen Anteil und ein Erbe im Haus unseres Vaters? 15 Haben wir ihm nicht als Fremde gegolten? Denn er hat uns verkauft und hat sogar unseren ⟨Kauf⟩preis^[6] völlig verzehrt. (1Mo 29,20) 16 Denn aller Reichtum, den Gott unserem Vater entzogen hat, uns gehört er und unseren Kindern. So tu nun alles, was Gott zu dir gesagt hat! 17 Da machte Jakob sich auf und hob seine Kinder und seine Frauen auf die Kamele 18 und trieb all sein Vieh weg und all seine Habe, die er erworben, das Vieh seines Eigentums, das er in Paddan-Aram^[7] erworben hatte, um zu seinem Vater Isaak in das Land Kanaan zu kommen. (1Mo 32,6) 19 Laban aber war gegangen, um seine Schafe zu scheren; da stahl Rahel den Terafim^[8], der ihrem Vater gehörte. 20 Und Jakob täuschte Laban, den Aramäer^[9], weil er ihm nicht mitteilte, dass er fliehen wollte. 21 Und er floh, er und alles, was er hatte; und er machte sich auf und setzte über den Strom^[10] und richtete sein Gesicht auf das Gebirge Gilead. 22 Am dritten Tag aber wurde dem Laban berichtet, dass Jakob geflohen sei. 23 Da nahm er seine Brüder mit sich und jagte ihm sieben Tagereisen weit nach und holte ihn auf dem Gebirge Gilead ein. 24 Gott aber kam zu Laban, dem Aramäer, in einem Traum der Nacht und sprach zu ihm: Nimm dich in Acht, dass du mit Jakob weder Gutes noch Böses^[11] redest! (1Mo 20,3; 1Mo 24,50; 2Sam 13,22) 25 Und Laban erreichte Jakob, als Jakob sein Zelt auf dem Gebirge aufgeschlagen hatte; und ⟨auch⟩ Laban schlug es mit seinen Brüdern auf dem Gebirge Gilead auf. 26 Und Laban sagte zu Jakob: Was hast du getan, dass du mich getäuscht^[12] und meine Töchter wie Kriegsgefangene weggeführt hast? (1Mo 29,25) 27 Warum bist du heimlich geflohen und hast mich getäuscht^[13] und hast es mir nicht mitgeteilt? Ich hätte dich ja begleitet mit Freude und mit Gesängen, mit Tamburin und Zither! 28 Und du hast mich nicht ⟨einmal⟩ meine Söhne^[14] und meine Töchter küssen lassen! Nun, du hast töricht gehandelt. 29 Es stünde in der Macht meiner Hand, übel mit euch zu verfahren. Aber der Gott eures Vaters hat gestern Nacht zu mir geredet und gesagt: Nimm dich in Acht, mit Jakob Gutes oder Böses^[15] zu reden! (1Mo 24,50; 2Sam 13,22) 30 Nun denn – du bist nun einmal weggegangen, weil du dich so sehr nach dem Haus deines Vaters sehntest. Warum ⟨aber⟩ hast du meinen Gott gestohlen? (Ri 18,24) 31 Da antwortete Jakob und sagte zu Laban: Ja, ich fürchtete mich; denn ich sagte ⟨mir⟩, du würdest deine Töchter von mir reißen. 32 ⟨Doch⟩ bei wem du deinen Gott findest, der soll nicht am Leben bleiben. Untersuche ⟨hier⟩ vor unseren Brüdern, was bei mir ist, und nimm es dir! Jakob aber wusste^[16] nicht, dass Rahel ihn gestohlen hatte. (1Mo 44,9) 33 Da ging Laban in das Zelt Jakobs und in das Zelt Leas und in das Zelt der beiden Mägde und fand nichts; und er kam aus Leas Zelt und ging in das Zelt Rahels. 34 Rahel aber hatte den Terafim^[17] genommen und ihn in den Kamelsattel gelegt und sich daraufgesetzt. Und Laban tastete das ganze Zelt ab und fand nichts. (Ri 18,24) 35 Da sagte sie zu ihrem Vater: Mein Herr, zürne nicht^[18], dass ich nicht vor dir aufstehen kann; denn es ⟨geht⟩ mir nach der Weise der Frauen. Und er durchsuchte ⟨alles⟩ und fand den Terafim nicht. 36 Da wurde Jakob zornig und stritt mit Laban. Und Jakob antwortete und sagte zu Laban: Was ist mein Verbrechen, was meine Sünde, dass du so hitzig hinter mir her bist? 37 Da du all meine Sachen durchtastet hast, was hast du gefunden von allen Sachen deines Hauses? Lege es hierher vor meine Brüder und deine Brüder, sie sollen zwischen uns beiden entscheiden! 38 Zwanzig Jahre bin ich nun bei dir gewesen; deine Mutterschafe und deine Ziegen haben nicht fehlgeboren, und die Widder deiner Herde habe ich nicht gegessen. (1Mo 30,29) 39 Das Zerrissene habe ich nicht zu dir gebracht, ich habe es ersetzen müssen; von meiner Hand hast du es gefordert, mochte es gestohlen sein bei Tag, mochte es gestohlen sein bei Nacht. (2Mo 22,9) 40 ⟨So⟩ erging es mir: Am Tag verzehrte mich die Hitze und der Frost in der Nacht, und mein Schlaf floh von meinen Augen. 41 Zwanzig Jahre bin ich nun in deinem Haus gewesen; vierzehn Jahre habe ich dir für deine beiden Töchter gedient und sechs Jahre für deine Herde, und du hast meinen Lohn zehnmal verändert. (1Mo 29,27; 1Mo 31,6) 42 Wenn nicht der Gott meines Vaters, der Gott Abrahams, und der Schrecken Isaaks für mich gewesen wäre, gewiss, du hättest mich jetzt mit leeren Händen entlassen. Mein Elend und die Arbeit meiner Hände hat Gott angesehen und hat gestern Nacht entschieden. (1Mo 29,32; Ps 124,1) 43 Da antwortete Laban und sagte zu Jakob: Die Töchter sind meine Töchter, und die Söhne^[19] sind meine Söhne, und die Tiere sind meine Tiere, und alles, was du ⟨hier⟩ siehst, mir gehört es! Aber meinen Töchtern ⟨gegenüber⟩, was könnte ich ihnen heute tun, oder ihren Söhnen, die sie geboren haben? 44 Und nun komm, lass uns einen Bund schließen, ich und du, der sei zum Zeugnis zwischen mir und dir! (1Mo 26,28) 45 Da nahm Jakob einen Stein und richtete ihn als Gedenkstein auf. (1Mo 28,18) 46 Und Jakob^[20] sagte zu seinen Brüdern: Sammelt Steine! Da nahmen sie Steine und machten ⟨daraus⟩ einen Haufen und aßen dort auf dem Haufen. 47 Und Laban nannte ihn Jegar-Sahaduta^[21], und Jakob nannte ihn Gal-Ed^[22]. 48 Und Laban sagte: Dieser Haufen sei heute Zeuge zwischen mir und dir! Darum gab man ihm den Namen Gal-Ed (Jos 22,27) 49 und Mizpa^[23], weil er sagte: Der HERR halte Wache zwischen mir und dir, wenn wir uns nicht mehr sehen^[24]! (Ri 10,17) 50 Wenn du meine Töchter unterdrücken^[25] und wenn du ⟨noch andere⟩ Frauen zu meinen Töchtern hinzunehmen solltest – kein Mensch ist bei uns, siehe, Gott ist Zeuge zwischen mir und dir. 51 Und Laban sagte zu Jakob: Siehe, dieser Haufen, und siehe, der Gedenkstein, den ich errichtet habe zwischen mir und dir, 52 dieser Haufen sei Zeuge und der Gedenkstein ein Zeugnis, dass ich nicht über diesen Haufen zu dir hinausgehe und dass du über diesen Haufen und diesen Gedenkstein nicht zu mir hinausgehst zum Bösen. Now Jacob had pitched his tent in the mount: and Laban with his brethren pitched in the mount of Gilead. 26 And Laban said to Jacob, What hast thou done, that thou hast stolen away unawares to me, and carried away my daughters, as captives taken with the sword? 27 Wherefore didst thou flee away secretly, and steal away from me; and didst not tell me, that I might have sent thee away with mirth, and with songs, with tabret, and with harp? 28 And hast not suffered me to kiss my sons and my daughters? thou hast now done foolishly in so doing. 29 It is in the power of my hand to do you hurt: but the God of your father spake unto me yesternight, saying, Take thou heed that thou speak not to Jacob either good or bad. 30 And now, though thou wouldest needs be gone, because thou sore longedst after thy father' house, yet wherefore hast thou stolen my gods? 31 And Jacob answered and said to Laban, Because I was afraid: for I said, Peradventure thou wouldest take by force thy daughters from me. 32 With whomsoever thou findest thy gods, let him not live: before our brethren discern thou what is thine with me, and take it to thee. For Jacob knew not that Rachel had stolen them. 33 And Laban went into Jacob' tent, and into Leah' tent, and into the two maidservants'tents; but he found them not. Then went he out of Leah' tent, and entered into Rachel' tent. 34 Now Rachel had taken the images, and put them in the camel' furniture, and sat upon them. And Laban searched all the tent, but found them not. 35 And she said to her father, Let it not displease my lord that I cannot rise up before thee; for the custom of women is upon me. And he searched, but found not the images. 36 And Jacob was wroth, and chode with Laban: and Jacob answered and said to Laban, What is my trespass? what is my sin, that thou hast so hotly pursued after me? 37 Whereas thou hast searched all my stuff, what hast thou found of all thy household stuff? set it here before my brethren and thy brethren, that they may judge betwixt us both. 38 This twenty years have I been with thee; thy ewes and thy she goats have not cast their young, and the rams of thy flock have I not eaten. 39 That which was torn of beasts I brought not unto thee; I bare the loss of it; of my hand didst thou require it, whether stolen by day, or stolen by night. 40 Thus I was; in the day the drought consumed me, and the frost by night; and my sleep departed from mine eyes. 41 Thus have I been twenty years in thy house; I served thee fourteen years for thy two daughters, and six years for thy cattle: and thou hast changed my wages ten times. 42 Except the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and the fear of Isaac, had been with me, surely thou hadst sent me away now empty. God hath seen mine affliction and the labour of my hands, and rebuked thee yesternight. 43 And Laban answered and said unto Jacob, These daughters are my daughters, and these children are my children, and these cattle are my cattle, and all that thou seest is mine: and what can I do this day unto these my daughters, or unto their children which they have born? 44 Now therefore come thou, let us make a covenant, I and thou; and let it be for a witness between me and thee. 45 And Jacob took a stone, and set it up for a pillar. 46 And Jacob said unto his brethren, Gather stones; and they took stones, and made an heap: and they did eat there upon the heap. 47 And Laban called it Jegarsahadutha: but Jacob called it Galeed. 48 And Laban said, This heap is a witness between me and thee this day. Therefore was the name of it called Galeed; 49 And Mizpah; for he said, The LORD watch between me and thee, when we are absent one from another. 50 If thou shalt afflict my daughters, or if thou shalt take other wives beside my daughters, no man is with us; see, God is witness betwixt me and thee. 51 And Laban said to Jacob, Behold this heap, and behold this pillar, which I have cast betwixt me and thee; 52 This heap be witness, and this pillar be witness, that I will not pass over this heap to thee, and that thou shalt not pass over this heap and this pillar unto me, for harm. 53 The God of Abraham, and the God of Nahor, the God of their father, judge betwixt us. And Jacob sware by the fear of his father Isaac. 54 Then Jacob offered sacrifice upon the mount, and called his brethren to eat bread: and they did eat bread, and tarried all night in the mount. 55 And early in the morning Laban rose up, and kissed his sons and his daughters, and blessed them: and Laban departed, and returned unto his place.
