1Und es geschah, als er am Sabbat in das Haus eines der Obersten der Pharisäer[1] kam, zu essen[2], dass sie auf ihn lauerten. (Lk 6,7; Lk 7,36)2Und siehe, ein wassersüchtiger Mensch war vor ihm.3Und Jesus begann[3] und sprach zu den Gesetzesgelehrten und Pharisäern und sagte: Ist es erlaubt, am Sabbat zu heilen oder nicht? Und er fasste ihn an und heilte ihn und entließ ihn.5Und er sprach zu ihnen: Wer unter euch, dessen Sohn oder Ochse in einen Brunnen fällt, zieht ihn nicht sogleich heraus am Tag des Sabbats? Warnung vor Ehrsucht
7Er sprach aber zu den Eingeladenen ein Gleichnis, als er bemerkte, wie sie die ersten Plätze wählten, und sagte zu ihnen: (Lk 11,43)8Wenn du von jemandem zur Hochzeit eingeladen wirst, so lege dich nicht auf den ersten Platz, damit nicht etwa ein Geehrterer als du von ihm eingeladen ist9und der, welcher dich und ihn eingeladen hat, kommt und zu dir spricht: Mach diesem Platz! Und dann wirst du anfangen, mit Schande den letzten Platz einzunehmen. (Spr 25,7)10Sondern wenn du eingeladen bist, so geh hin und lege dich auf den letzten Platz, damit, wenn der, welcher dich eingeladen hat, kommt, er zu dir spricht: Freund, rücke höher hinauf! Dann wirst du Ehre haben vor allen, die mit dir zu Tisch liegen. (Spr 15,33)11Denn jeder, der sich selbst erhöht, wird erniedrigt werden, und wer sich selbst erniedrigt, wird erhöht werden. (Mt 18,4; Lk 18,14)12Er sprach aber auch zu dem, der ihn eingeladen hatte: Wenn du ein Mittag- oder ein Abendessen machst, so lade nicht deine Freunde ein noch deine Brüder noch deine Verwandten noch reiche Nachbarn, damit nicht etwa auch sie dich wieder einladen und dir Vergeltung zuteilwird. (Lk 6,34)13Sondern wenn du ein Mahl machst, so lade Arme, Krüppel, Lahme, Blinde ein! (5Mo 14,29; Lk 14,21)14Und glückselig wirst du sein, weil sie nichts haben, um dir zu vergelten; denn es wird dir vergolten werden bei der Auferstehung der Gerechten. (Lk 6,35; Apg 20,35)
Gleichnis vom großen Gastmahl
15Als aber einer von denen, die mit zu Tisch lagen, dies hörte, sprach er zu ihm: Glückselig, wer essen[4] wird im Reich[5] Gottes! (Lk 13,29)16Er aber sprach zu ihm: Ein Mensch machte ein großes Gastmahl[6] und lud viele ein.17Und er sandte seinen Knecht[7] zur Stunde des Gastmahls, um den Eingeladenen zu sagen: Kommt! Denn schon ist alles bereit.18Und sie fingen alle ohne Ausnahme an, sich zu entschuldigen. Der erste sprach zu ihm: Ich habe einen Acker gekauft und muss unbedingt hinausgehen und ihn besehen; ich bitte dich, halte mich für entschuldigt.19Und ein anderer sprach: Ich habe fünf Joch Ochsen gekauft, und ich gehe hin, sie zu erproben; ich bitte dich, halte mich für entschuldigt.20Und ein anderer sprach: Ich habe eine Frau geheiratet, und darum kann ich nicht kommen. (1Kor 7,33)21Und der Knecht kam herbei und berichtete dies seinem Herrn. Da wurde der Hausherr zornig und sprach zu seinem Knecht: Geh schnell hinaus auf die Straßen und Gassen der Stadt und bringe die Armen und Krüppel und Blinden und Lahmen hier herein! (Spr 1,24; Lk 14,13)22Und der Knecht sprach: Herr, es ist geschehen, wie du befohlen hast, und es ist noch Raum.23Und der Herr sprach zu dem Knecht: Geh hinaus auf die Wege und ⟨an die⟩ Zäune und nötige ⟨sie⟩ hereinzukommen, dass mein Haus voll wird!24Denn ich sage euch, dass nicht einer jener Männer, die eingeladen waren, an meinem Gastmahl[8] teilnehmen wird[9].
Bedingungen der Nachfolge
25Es gingen aber große Volksmengen mit ihm; und er wandte sich um und sprach zu ihnen:26Wenn jemand zu mir kommt und hasst nicht seinen Vater und die Mutter und die Frau und die Kinder und die Brüder und die Schwestern, dazu aber auch sein eigenes Leben[10], so kann er nicht mein Jünger sein; (5Mo 33,9; Mt 10,37; Mt 10,39; Lk 18,29; Offb 12,11)27und wer nicht sein Kreuz trägt und mir nachkommt, kann nicht mein Jünger sein. (Lk 9,23)28Denn wer unter euch, der einen Turm bauen will, setzt sich nicht vorher hin und berechnet die Kosten, ob er ⟨das Nötige⟩ zur Ausführung hat?29Damit nicht etwa, wenn er den Grund gelegt hat und nicht vollenden kann, alle, die es sehen, anfangen, ihn zu verspotten,30und sagen: Dieser Mensch hat angefangen zu bauen und konnte nicht vollenden.31Oder welcher König, der auszieht, um sich mit einem anderen König in Krieg einzulassen, setzt sich nicht vorher hin und ratschlagt, ob er imstande ist, dem mit zehntausend entgegenzutreten, der gegen ihn mit zwanzigtausend anrückt? (Spr 20,18)32Wenn aber nicht, so sendet er, während er noch fern ist, eine Gesandtschaft und bittet um die Friedensbedingungen.33So kann nun keiner von euch, der nicht allem entsagt, was er hat, mein Jünger sein. (Lk 5,11)34Das Salz nun ist gut. Wenn aber auch das Salz kraftlos geworden ist, womit soll es gewürzt werden? (Mt 5,13)35Es ist weder für das Land noch für den Dünger tauglich; man wirft es hinaus. Wer Ohren hat zu hören, der höre! (Lk 8,8)

The Parable of the Wedding Feast
7Now he told a parable to those who were invited, when he noticed how they chose the places of honor, saying to them, (Lk 11,43)8“When you are invited by someone to a wedding feast, do not sit down in a place of honor, lest someone more distinguished than you be invited by him,9and he who invited you both will come and say to you, ‘Give your place to this person,’ and then you will begin with shame to take the lowest place.10But when you are invited, go and sit in the lowest place, so that when your host comes he may say to you, ‘Friend, move up higher.’ Then you will be honored in the presence of all who sit at table with you. The Parable of the Great Banquet
12He said also to the man who had invited him, “When you give a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or your brothers[2] or your relatives or rich neighbors, lest they also invite you in return and you be repaid. (Lk 6,34; Joh 21,12)13But when you give a feast, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, (Neh 8,10; Neh 8,12; Est 9,22; Lk 14,21)14and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. The Cost of Discipleship
25Now great crowds accompanied him, and he turned and said to them,26“If anyone comes to me and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. (5Mo 33,9; Mt 10,37; Lk 14,33; Lk 16,13; Joh 12,25; Apg 20,24; Offb 12,11)27Whoever does not bear his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. (Mt 10,38; Mt 16,24; Mk 8,34; Lk 9,23; Joh 19,17)28For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? (Spr 24,27)29Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him,30saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’31Or what king, going out to encounter another king in war, will not sit down first and deliberate whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him who comes against him with twenty thousand? (Lk 14,28)32And if not, while the other is yet a great way off, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace.33So therefore, any one of you who does not renounce all that he has cannot be my disciple. Salt Without Taste Is Worthless
34“Salt is good, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? (Mt 5,13; Mk 9,50)35It is of no use either for the soil or for the manure pile. It is thrown away. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.” (Mt 11,15)

Parábola del gran banquete
15Al oír esto, uno de los que estaban sentados a la mesa con Jesús le dijo: —¡Dichoso el que coma en el banquete del reino de Dios!16Jesús le contestó: —Cierto hombre preparó un gran banquete e invitó a muchas personas.17A la hora del banquete mandó a su siervo a decirles a los invitados: “Vengan, porque ya todo está listo.”18Pero todos, sin excepción, comenzaron a disculparse. El primero le dijo: “Acabo de comprar un terreno y tengo que ir a verlo. Te ruego que me disculpes.”19Otro adujo: “Acabo de comprar cinco yuntas de bueyes, y voy a probarlas. Te ruego que me disculpes.”20Otro alegó: “Acabo de casarme y por eso no puedo ir.”21El siervo regresó y le informó de esto a su señor. Entonces el dueño de la casa se enojó y le mandó a su siervo: “Sal de prisa por las plazas y los callejones del pueblo, y trae acá a los pobres, a los inválidos, a los cojos y a los ciegos.”22“Señor —le dijo luego el siervo—, ya hice lo que usted me mandó, pero todavía hay lugar.”23Entonces el señor le respondió: “Ve por los caminos y las veredas, y oblígalos a entrar para que se llene mi casa.24Les digo que ninguno de aquellos invitados disfrutará de mi banquete.”
El precio del discipulado
25Grandes multitudes seguían a Jesús, y él se volvió y les dijo:26«Si alguno viene a mí y no sacrifica el amor[2] a su padre y a su madre, a su esposa y a sus hijos, a sus hermanos y a sus hermanas, y aun a su propia vida, no puede ser mi discípulo.27Y el que no carga su cruz y me sigue, no puede ser mi discípulo.28»Supongamos que alguno de ustedes quiere construir una torre. ¿Acaso no se sienta primero a calcular el costo, para ver si tiene suficiente dinero para terminarla?29Si echa los cimientos y no puede terminarla, todos los que la vean comenzarán a burlarse de él,30y dirán: “Este hombre ya no pudo terminar lo que comenzó a construir.”31»O supongamos que un rey está a punto de ir a la guerra contra otro rey. ¿Acaso no se sienta primero a calcular si con diez mil hombres puede enfrentarse al que viene contra él con veinte mil?32Si no puede, enviará una delegación mientras el otro está todavía lejos, para pedir condiciones de paz.33De la misma manera, cualquiera de ustedes que no renuncie a todos sus bienes, no puede ser mi discípulo.34»La sal es buena, pero si se vuelve insípida, ¿cómo recuperará el sabor?35No sirve ni para la tierra ni para el abono; hay que tirarla fuera. »El que tenga oídos para oír, que oiga.»

Gesù guarisce un idropico
1Gesù entrò di sabato in casa di uno dei principali farisei per prendere cibo, ed essi lo stavano osservando;2ed ecco, davanti a lui c’era un uomo idropico.3Gesù prese a dire ai dottori della legge e ai farisei: «È lecito o no fare guarigioni in giorno di sabato?» Ma essi tacquero.4Allora egli lo prese per mano, lo guarì e lo congedò.5Poi disse loro: «Chi di voi, se gli cade nel pozzo un figlio o un bue, non lo tira subito fuori in giorno di sabato?»6Ed essi non potevano rispondere nulla in contrario.
Lezioni di umiltà e di carità
7Notando poi come gli invitati sceglievano i primi posti, disse loro una parabola:8«Quando sarai invitato a nozze da qualcuno, non ti mettere a tavola al primo posto, perché può darsi che sia stato invitato da lui qualcuno più importante di te,9e chi ha invitato te e lui venga a dirti: “Cedi il posto a questo!” e tu debba con tua vergogna andare allora a occupare l’ultimo posto.10Ma quando sarai invitato, va’ a metterti all’ultimo posto, affinché quando verrà colui che ti ha invitato, ti dica: “Amico, vieni più avanti”. Allora ne avrai onore davanti a tutti quelli che saranno a tavola con te.11Poiché chiunque si innalza sarà abbassato e chi si abbassa sarà innalzato».12Diceva pure a colui che lo aveva invitato: «Quando fai un pranzo o una cena, non invitare i tuoi amici, né i tuoi fratelli, né i tuoi parenti, né i vicini ricchi, perché essi potrebbero a loro volta invitare te, e così ti sarebbe reso il contraccambio;13ma quando fai un convito, chiama poveri, storpi, zoppi, ciechi,14e sarai beato, perché non hanno modo di contraccambiare; infatti il contraccambio ti sarà reso alla risurrezione dei giusti».
Parabola del gran convito
15Uno degli invitati, udite queste cose, gli disse: «Beato chi mangerà pane nel regno di Dio!»16Gesù gli disse: «Un uomo preparò una gran cena e invitò molti;17e all’ora della cena mandò il suo servo a dire agli invitati: “Venite, perché è già pronto”.18Tutti insieme cominciarono a scusarsi. Il primo gli disse: “Ho comprato un campo e ho necessità di andarlo a vedere; ti prego di scusarmi”.19Un altro disse: “Ho comprato cinque paia di buoi e vado a provarli; ti prego di scusarmi”.20Un altro disse: “Ho preso moglie e perciò non posso venire”.21Il servo tornò e riferì queste cose al suo signore. Allora il padrone di casa si adirò e disse al suo servo: “Va’ presto per le piazze e per le vie della città, e conduci qua poveri, storpi, ciechi e zoppi”.22Poi il servo disse: “Signore, ciò che hai comandato è stato fatto e c’è ancora posto”.23Il signore disse al servo: “Va’ fuori per le strade e lungo le siepi e costringili a entrare, affinché la mia casa sia piena.24Perché io vi dico che nessuno di quegli uomini che erano stati invitati assaggerà la mia cena”».
Il vero discepolo di Gesù
25Or molta gente andava con lui; ed egli, rivolto verso di loro, disse:26«Se uno viene a me e non odia suo padre, sua madre, la moglie, i figli, i fratelli, le sorelle e persino la sua propria vita, non può essere mio discepolo.27E chi non porta la sua croce e non viene dietro a me, non può essere mio discepolo.28Chi di voi, infatti, volendo costruire una torre, non si siede prima a calcolare la spesa per vedere se ha abbastanza per poterla finire?29Perché non succeda che, quando ne abbia posto le fondamenta e non la possa finire, tutti quelli che la vedranno comincino a beffarsi di lui, dicendo:30“Quest’uomo ha cominciato a costruire e non ha potuto terminare”.31Oppure, qual è il re che, partendo per muovere guerra a un altro re, non si sieda prima a esaminare se con diecimila uomini può affrontare colui che gli viene contro con ventimila?32Se no, mentre quello è ancora lontano, gli manda un’ambasciata e chiede di trattare la pace.33Così dunque ognuno di voi, che non rinuncia a tutto quello che ha, non può essere mio discepolo.34Il sale, certo, è buono; ma se anche il sale diventa insipido, con che cosa gli si darà sapore?35Non serve né per il terreno, né per il concime; lo si butta via. Chi ha orecchi per udire oda».
