1A message from the LORD came to me. The LORD said,2‘Son of man, turn your attention to the Ammonites. Prophesy against them.3Tell them, “Listen to the message of the LORD and King. He says, ‘You laughed when my temple was made “unclean”. You also laughed when the land of Israel was completely destroyed. You mocked the people of Judah when they were taken away as prisoners.4So I am going to hand you over to the people of the east. They will set up their tents in your land. They will camp among you. They will eat your fruit. They will drink your milk.5I will turn the city of Rabbah into grasslands for camels. Ammon will become a resting place for sheep. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’ ” ’6The LORD and King says, ‘You clapped your hands. You stamped your feet. Deep down inside, you hated the land of Israel. You were glad because of what happened to it.7So I will reach out my powerful hand against you. I will give you and everything you have to the nations. I will bring you to an end among the nations. I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’
A prophecy against Moab
8The LORD and King says, ‘Moab and Edom said, “Look! Judah has become like all the other nations.”9So I will let Moab’s enemies attack its lower hills. They will begin at the border towns. Those towns include Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon and Kiriathaim. They are the glory of that land.10I will hand Moab over to the people of the east. I will also give the Ammonites to them. And the Ammonites will no longer be remembered among the nations.11I will punish Moab. Then they will know that I am the LORD.’
A prophecy against Edom
12The LORD and King says, ‘Edom got even with Judah. That made Edom very guilty.’13The LORD continues, ‘I will reach out my hand against Edom. I will kill its people and their animals. I will completely destroy it. They will be killed by swords from Teman all the way to Dedan.14I will use my people Israel to pay Edom back. They will punish Edom because my anger against it is great. They will know how I pay back my enemies,’ announces the LORD and King.
A prophecy against the Philistines
15The LORD and King says, ‘Deep down inside them, the Philistines hated Judah. So the Philistines tried to get even with them. They had been Judah’s enemies for many years. So they tried to destroy them.’16The LORD continues, ‘I am about to reach out my hand against the Philistines. I will wipe out the Kerethites. I will destroy those who remain along the coast.17You can be sure that I will pay them back. I will punish them because my anger against them is great. When I pay them back, they will know that I am the LORD.’

Prophecy Against Ammon
1The word of the Lord came to me:2“Son of man, set your face toward the Ammonites and prophesy against them. (Jer 49:1; Eze 2:1; Eze 6:2; Eze 21:20; Eze 21:28)3Say to the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God, Because you said, ‘Aha!’ over my sanctuary when it was profaned, and over the land of Israel when it was made desolate, and over the house of Judah when they went into exile, (Eze 2:4; Eze 3:11; Eze 3:27; Eze 7:22; Eze 26:2; Eze 36:2)4therefore behold, I am handing you over to the people of the East for a possession, and they shall set their encampments among you and make their dwellings in your midst. They shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk. (Jud 6:3)5I will make Rabbah a pasture for camels and Ammon[1] a fold for flocks. Then you will know that I am the Lord. (2Sa 11:1; 2Sa 12:26; Eze 21:20; Eze 24:27; Zep 2:15)6For thus says the Lord God: Because you have clapped your hands and stamped your feet and rejoiced with all the malice within your soul against the land of Israel, (Ps 98:8; Isa 55:12; Eze 6:11; Eze 25:15; Eze 36:5; Zep 2:8; Zep 2:10)7therefore, behold, I have stretched out my hand against you, and will hand you over as plunder to the nations. And I will cut you off from the peoples and will make you perish out of the countries; I will destroy you. Then you will know that I am the Lord. (Eze 6:14; Eze 7:21; Eze 25:4)
Prophecy Against Moab and Seir
8“Thus says the Lord God: Because Moab and Seir[2] said, ‘Behold, the house of Judah is like all the other nations,’ (Isa 15:1; Jer 25:17; Jer 48:1; Eze 25:12)9therefore I will lay open the flank of Moab from the cities, from its cities on its frontier, the glory of the country, Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon, and Kiriathaim. (Jos 12:3; 1Ch 5:8; Jer 48:1; Eze 25:8)10I will give it along with the Ammonites to the people of the East as a possession, that the Ammonites may be remembered no more among the nations, (Eze 21:32; Eze 25:2; Eze 25:4)11and I will execute judgments upon Moab. Then they will know that I am the Lord. (Eze 6:7; Eze 25:8)
Prophecy Against Edom
12“Thus says the Lord God: Because Edom acted revengefully against the house of Judah and has grievously offended in taking vengeance on them, (2Ch 28:17; Ps 137:7; Isa 21:11; Isa 34:5; Jer 49:7; Eze 25:8; Eze 25:15; Eze 32:29; Eze 35:2; Eze 35:5; Am 1:11; Ob 1:1)13therefore thus says the Lord God, I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it man and beast. And I will make it desolate; from Teman even to Dedan they shall fall by the sword. (1Ch 1:45; Isa 21:13; Eze 6:14; Eze 27:15; Eze 27:20; Eze 38:13; Am 1:12)14And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel, and they shall do in Edom according to my anger and according to my wrath, and they shall know my vengeance, declares the Lord God. (Eze 25:17; Am 9:12; Ob 1:18)
Prophecy Against Philistia
15“Thus says the Lord God: Because the Philistines acted revengefully and took vengeance with malice of soul to destroy in never-ending enmity, (Isa 14:29; Jer 25:20; Jer 47:1; Eze 25:6; Eze 25:12; Eze 36:5; Joe 3:4; Am 1:6; Zep 2:4)16therefore thus says the Lord God, Behold, I will stretch out my hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy the rest of the seacoast. (1Sa 30:14; Eze 25:13)17I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon them.” (Eze 5:15; Eze 25:14)
